The Advanced Processing Technology Research Centre (APT), is a leading interdisciplinary research centre located in the Dublin City University for a world class materials and laser processing and advanced manufacturing research and is targeting both short and long term fundamental and applied research challenges. The centre focuses on providing processing technology solutions for manufacturing industry in the ICT, Medical, Pharmaceutical, Food and Industrial Engineering sectors to increase the efficiency of the overall manufacturing process as well as develop specific improvements within the manufacturing process.

This centre offers a highest level of professionalism, and development for the benefit of partner companies, wider society and regional and national economy. APT brings together a strong multidisciplinary team of researchers across business, materials processing, engineering, chemistry, biotechnology and physical science within DCU. The centre has a strong network of academic and company connections both in nationally and internationally.

APT’s research and innovation strategy is focused on producing world class research and is targeting both short and long term fundamental and applied research challenges. APT research team focuses on multidisciplinary research initiatives to lead research in areas of global importance. The team multidisciplinarity allows solutions to be developed for complex research problems which often have a global market. APT provides a consultancy and advisory service and courses for industry and other interested stakeholders.
