Irish Company Equilume expand their US sales team following recent success
On Monday, Equilume announced that it is expanding its team in America to meet the sales opportunities in the North American market. Equilume is an Irish biotech company which offers lightning solutions for the international equine industry. The company intends to further expand the USA sales team in the coming months as demand grows for the Equilume Light mask and the Equilume Stable Light products.
Equilume was established by Dr.Barbara Murphy in 2012 as a spin-out from University College DUblin's (UCD) School of Agriculture and Food Science and it currently has its headquarters in Co. Kildare. The company is an Enterprise Ireland High-Potential Start-Up (HPSU) company.
Speaking to the Irish Field Dr. Barbara Murphy said "We are very excited to be adding to our resources in the US. It is a very important market to us given the size of the equine industry there as well as the number of diverse equestrian disciplines. With our expanded product lines, now was the right time to add new experience and expertise to our team to be able to better serve this large market"
New appointments
Equilume has appointed Micheal Lindsey to the newly created position of National Account Manager for North America and Micheal Hardy as Territory Manager for Eastern USA both men will work with Stephanie Standridge, the company's current Territory Manager for Central and Western USA, in the development and growth of opportunities across the continent.
Micheal Lindsey, a keen horseman living in Texas, brings a wealth of equine knowledge and 20 years of experience in the animal health industry as a national sales manager for a global animal nutrition company.
Micheal Hardy born in Northern Ireland, and now based in Lexington Kentucky, has a strong equine background. He grew up on a stud farm in Co.Down, graduated with a Bsc Equine Science from The University of Limerick. He is a graduate of the Goddolphins Flying Start Management and Leadership programme, which specialises in the international thoroughbred racing and breeding industry.
Commenting on the announcement chairman of Equilume, Norbert McDermott said "As a global leader in light therapy solutions for the equine industry these appointments strengthen and extend our ability to reach broader markets. Having recently spent some time with the team in the USA, I am excited about the new opportunities for Equilume provided by the added knowledge, experience and diverse equine backgrounds of Micheal Lindsey and Micheal Hardy."
The Equilume light mask is an individual headpiece for horses that provides timed, low-level blue light to a single eye to ensure early reproductive success for the horses. Since is launch in 2013, the Equilume Light mask has become a standard management tool to ensure reproductive success on breeding farms from the Hunter Valley, Australia to Kentucky Bluegrass, USA.
The Equilume Stable Light provides horses with biologically effective light in a system that replicates the benefit's of nature's environmental lighting indoors designed to maximise health, performance and breeding in stabled horses.
