Five Dublin Institutions Showcase Research Technologies at DIT Aungier St.

On Wednesday 25th February, Dublin Institute of Technology, IT Blanchardstown, IT Tallaght, IADT Dun Laoghaire and National College of Ireland held a joint innovation showcase in DIT Aungier St. DIT Hothouse joined 23 research exhibits in showcasing the latest innovations emerging from the HEIs with the aim of promoting industry-academic R&D collaboration and technology transfer to industry.  The five institutions comprise the Dublin Region Innovation Consortium (DRIC) which is funded by Enterprise Ireland to maximise the impact of research in each of the institutions. DIT Hothouse provides knowledge transfer and commercialisation support to all members of the consortium.  Click here to view the event programme from the day

Guest of Honour Minister of State for Skills, Research and Innovation Mr Damien English TD attended the showcase and toured the exhibits to meet the researchers behind the innovations. The Minister was welcomed by the Presidents of the participating institutions. The Minister delivered a presentation outlining opportunities available for industry-academic R&D partnerships.

Commercial Opportunities for Industry: The main aim of the showcase was to display the latest research technologies in the areas of ICT, Engineering, Clean Tech and Food & Life Science and promote research collaboration, technology licensing an company spin-out opportunities to interested companies and entrepreneurs.
